I hate home work. I hated it when I was a kid, I hated it in high school, and I was realy unfond of it in college. I still dont like home work. Then again who does?
Having to do home work with my children, actualy sitting still and watching them do home work or explaining what they need to do, is actualy PAINFUL! It's to me the equivalent of pulling teeth. With out novocaine.
Why do teachers make parents do home work? What the heck good is it that I need to relearn this stuff I 'm obviously NOT going to use the rest of my life. To quote Peggy Sue, "Can I be excused from Algebra? I know for a fact that I willl never use this stuff."
There is some home work that my children bring home that makes sense. They need to practice things in order for it to become rote. Math makes sense. Reading, makes sense. Bringing home science experiments? Realy, teacher, I took geology years ago. I dont remember what goes on durring a calcite test with vinegar. If you dont send home information for me or my child to read through to make corelation between what is happening in a wine glass filled with vingear and what he did in class then I realy cant help him much can I?
